A crooked medium who claims to have the ability to speak to the dead gets more than he bargained for when he meets an ex-con with a murderous past.

Check out the trailer for "A Crooked Somebody," an indie crime thriller that stars Rich Sommer (Mad Men, GLOW) as a fame-hungry fake psychic medium who, while seeking to raise his celebrity profile, gets a chance to solve a 20-year-old homicide case by colluding with a guilt-ridden murderer (played by character actor Clifton Collins Jr., from Westworld, Pacific Rim, and Capote).

Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt co-stars.

Directed by Trevor White (Jamesy Boy) and written by TV segment producer Andrew Zilch (Attack of the Show!, The Nerdist), "A Crooked Somebody" is currently available on DirecTV's VOD and will open in select theaters on October 5th. Watch the trailer, above.

Michael Vaughn is a phony psychic medium who is kidnapped by a guilt-ridden murderer who believes Michael can help him make peace with the spirit of his dead victim. But when Michael learns that his captor's crime is a high-profile unsolved case, he devises a plan to use his secret to gain fame and fortune on a national stage.
