After years of practicing in their garage, an amateur death metal band finally take their first steps toward stardom in this offbeat comedy from Finland.

Check out the official U.S. trailer for "Heavy Trip," a head-banging romp about the madcap road adventure of a fledgling Finnish metal band, called 'Impaled Rektum,' who are driving to Norway in a stolen van, so they can play their first ever gig at a heavy metal music festival.

Starring Johannes Holopainen, Minka Kuustonen, Ville Tiihonen, Antti Heikkinen, and Samuli Jaskio, the comedy hails from first-time feature Finnish directors Jukka Vidgren and Juuso Laatio, who previously made the sci-fi short film "Dr. Professor's Thesis of Evil," which was visually constructed from a combination of photography, 3D graphics, and animation.

After receiving glowing reviews at SXSW this year, "Heavy Trip" is set to be released in select U.S. theaters on October 5th, and it will then be made available on VOD on October 12th.

synopsis:
In this offbeat comedy from Finland, Turo is stuck in a small village where the best thing in his life is being the lead vocalist for the amateur metal band Impaled Rektum. The only problem? He and his bandmates have practiced for 12 years without playing a single gig. The guys get a surprise visitor from Norway -- the promoter for a huge heavy metal music festival -- and decide it's now or never. They steal a van, a corpse, and even a new drummer in order to make their dreams a reality.
