"Avengers" star Elizabeth Olsen plays a young, newly widowed woman in the first official trailer for the forthcoming Facebook original series "Sorry for Your Loss."

The streaming drama stars Olsen (who also serves as executive producer) as Leigh Gibbs, a twenty-something widow who is having a difficult time coping with the sudden death of her husband (played by "Patti Cakes" actor Mamoudou Athie, appearing in flashback scenes).

While attending a support group, Leigh, still struggling to piece her life back together, has decided to re-explore her late husband's history as she attempts to fill in those relationship gaps that had been left by his untimely death.

The half-hour series, which will run for ten episodes, was created by Kit Steinkellner, a former staff writer on the short-lived Amazon series "Z: The Beginning of Everything."

The cast also includes "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" star Kelly Marie Tran, "Fences" actor Jovan Adepo, and two-time Oscar nominee Janet McTeer, who recently appeared on Season 2 of "Jessica Jones."

Acclaimed filmmaker James Ponsoldt (The End of the Tour, The Spectacular Now) directs the premiere episode, while other directors on the series include Jessica Yu, Allison Anders, Jamie Babbit, Rose Troche, Hannah Fidell, and Azazel Jacobs.

"Sorry for Your Loss," which will screen at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, is due to be released on Facebook Watch beginning September 18th.
