Spending Christmas with family members can be a stressful thing. But that stress can easily turn into sheer terror once you realize that someone -- or something -- is holding you and your relatives captives.

"Await Further Instructions" is a new British horror movie with a dark sci-fi twist. And it stars Sam Gittins (Obey) and Neerja Naik (Doctors) as Nick and Annji, a young English couple who have agreed to spend Christmas with Nick's not-so-easygoing family.

As Christmas dinner becomes increasingly uncomfortable and contentious, Nick and Annji try to keep it together as long as they can. Their goal is ultimately thwarted when, later that evening, they discover the entire house is sealed with a mysterious black substance. While trapped inside, Nick and his family are pitted against each other, becoming part of some kind of sick game after the living room television transmitted a cryptic message that advised to -- "Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions."

Does this have something to do with a new twisted British reality show? Or has the air in England just been poisoned by an airborne virus? Or could the answer be, it's merely an alien invasion, and the aliens are just messing with people's minds? Whatever it is, it's a freakin' Christmas nightmare.

Co-starring Grant Masters, Abigail Cruttenden, Holly Weston, and Kris Saddler with "Game of Thrones" veteran actor David Bradley as the cranky, mean-spirited relative, "Await Further Instructions" comes from British horror director Johnny Kevorkian (The Disappeared) and screenwriter Gavin Williams, and BAFTA-nominated producer Jack Tarling (God's Own Country).

The film, which just premiered in London this past weekend at FrightFest, will be released in the U.S. through Dark Sky Films, hitting theaters and VOD on October 5th.
