"After thirty years of 'Predator' movies, it's the right time to resurrect the franchise," says writer-director Shane Black in a new featurette for the upcoming "Predator" reboot.
"I loved growing this thing," Black notes. "[We're] trying to encompass in one movie all the genre things that we loved."
Boasting a large ensemble cast that includes the likes of Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Thomas Jane (The Mist) and Jacob Tremblay (Room), the sci-fi-horror action-thriller follows a group of ex-military soldiers as they go up against the most lethal hunter in the universe. That's until, they all encounter the "Ultimate Predator," a genetically upgraded alien monster that has only one thing on its mind -- to kill everything it sees!
Co-written by Black along with his long-time writing collaborator Fred Dekker (they both had penned the cult 80s horror comedy "The Monster Squad"), "The Predator" is hitting theaters September 14th.
synopsis:
