Amazon has released the official trailer for Season 3 of the acclaimed alternate-history mystery series "The Man in the High Castle," which is based on Philip K. Dick's award-winning 'what if' novel.

While exploring the disturbing scenario that if the Allied Powers had lost World War II to Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan what would become of America in the post-war '1960s, the Amazon series steps into its new third season with an intriguing idea -- parallel worlds!

It seems alternate parallel universes exist, offering hope to a rising rebellion in a now Nazi-controlled America as secret film reels show an alternate history of the Allies winning the war.

"Fight for the world you want!" The tagline reads in the above trailer, which sees actress Alexa Davalos back as Juliana Crain, an underground anti-Nazi crusader who is becoming the new face of the resistance, just as she learns about a secret hi-tech Nazi machine that is being built "to invade and conquer parallel worlds."

Also, starring Rufus Sewell, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Jason O'Mara, Luke Kleintank, DJ Qualls, and Stephen Root, the Frank Spotnitz-created series returns with its third season on Amazon Prime beginning October 5th.

synopsis:
Based on Philip K. Dick’s award-winning 1962 alternate history novel, The Man in the High Castle explores what would have happened if the Allied Powers had lost World War II.

Season three of the Emmy award-winning The Man in the High Castle finds Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) grappling with her destiny after seeking safety in the Neutral Zone. Realizing that their fates are intertwined, she works with Trade Minister Tagomi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) to interpret the mystery of the last remaining films. Meanwhile, as tensions between the Reich and the Empire continue to rise, Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank) returns from Berlin and is sent on a diplomatic mission to San Francisco, where he and Juliana reunite and come to a turning point in their relationship.

Also in the new season, Obergruppenfuhrer John Smith (Rufus Sewell) finds himself celebrated by Nazi high society, but political forces are closing in as North American Reischsmarschall Lincoln Rockwell and J. Edgar Hoover plot against him. Helen (Chelah Horsdal) takes drastic action to protect her family while they struggle with the aftermath of Thomas’ death, and Smith learns of a shocking and ambitious new Nazi program that has personal and global ramifications.
