A woman with a traumatic past finds her life turned upside down when she falls under the hypnotic spell of a charismatic psychic guru.

Check out the newly-released trailer for "Housewife," a psychological horror thriller that marks the English-language debut of cult Turkish horror director Can Evrenol, of "Baskin" fame.

The film stars French actress Clementine Poidatz (from NatGeo's sci-fi series "Mars") as the title character, Holly, who has been plagued by scarring memories of a painful childhood. But when she attends a seminar and meets a bewitching spiritualist and celebrity cult leader (played by Japanese-Danish actor David Sakurai, of "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald"), Holly is suddenly freed from grief and misery, only to later see her deep-rooted fears manifest into disturbing horrific visions.

After spending last year running on the genre film festival circuit, "Housewife" is now set to arrive on VOD, DVD, and Digital HD on October 2nd. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Haunted by a horrific childhood trauma for twenty years, Holly struggles with vivid, disturbing nightmares that leave her detached and unable to live a normal life. Then an old friend recommends Holly meet with charismatic cult leader Bruce O'Hara, and she is led on a twisted journey of waking dreams that will begin to unravel the fabric of reality and reveal the truth about Holly's family...a terrifying destiny.
