Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco return to the gritty streets of New York City as they try to earn a somewhat-honest living during the rise of the 1970s sex industry.

Here's the newly-released official trailer for Season 2 of the critically acclaimed HBO drama "The Deuce," which once again sees Gyllenhaal as Candy, an ex-street prostitute trying to break into the porn business as an ambitious adult film director, and Franco as Vincent and Frankie Martino, twin brothers running a successful local bar with ties to the mob.

Created, executive produced, and written by "The Wire" creator David Simon and acclaimed crime novelist George Pelecanos, "The Deuce" also stars Emily Meade, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Margarita Levieva, Chris Bauer, David Krumholtz, Michael Rispoli, and Ralph Macchio.

Season 2 will explore the New York police department's actions to crack down on the city's sex trade and booming adult film industry, and how those measures will affect the characters on the show.

"The Deuce" is set to return on Sunday, September 9th on HBO.
