It's a sweet love story about a girl who falls for a guy with cancer.

In the new indie film "After Everything," Jeremy Allen White (from Showtime's "Shameless") stars as a 23-year-old New Yorker who -- on the day after he is diagnosed with having Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer -- randomly meets a beautiful girl at the subway (played here by "It Follows" star Maika Monroe). What started as an awkward meet-cute ends up becoming a whirlwind romance that will be tested in the coming months as they both must grapple with his cancer treatment.

Actress Hannah Marks (from the Elijah Wood-starring crime comedy series "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency") makes her feature directorial and writing debut with "After Everything." She shares co-directing and co-writing credits with fellow collaborator Joey Power.

The film, which premiered under its former title "Shotgun" to positive reviews at this year's South by Southwest, also includes appearances by Dean Winters, Gina Gershon, and Marisa Tomei.

"After Everything" is being released in select theaters and on VOD October 12th. Watch the trailer, above.
