While attending a family Christmas party, a young teenage girl discovers a pathway into a mysterious fantasy world, where she is transformed into a powerful princess who ends up becoming the only hope of defeating a ruthless tyrant.

Check out the new official trailer for "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms," Disney's latest fairy tale epic that stars Mackenzie Foy (from "Interstellar") as Clara, a young teen girl who goes on a dangerous quest to find a one-of-a-kind key after being magically transported to a fantasy land filled with human-looking fairies, living wooden soldiers, and nasty witches.

Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic 1816 fairy tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King," which itself was the basis of the famous Tchaikovsky ballet "The Nutcracker," the upcoming Disney film also stars Keira Knightley, Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman, newcomer Jayden Fowora-Knight and superstar ballerina Misty Copeland, with Oscar-winner Helen Mirren co-starring as the evil Mother Ginger.

Acclaimed Swedish-born filmmaker Lasse Hallstrom (What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Chocolat, The Hundred-Foot Journey) will be sharing co-directing credits with veteran Hollywood director Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer, October Sky, Captain America), who was brought in by the studio to direct a month-worth of re-shoots when Hallstrom suddenly became unavailable.

"The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" is currently slated for a November 2nd theatrical release.

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key -- a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer's (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key -- which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It's there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara's key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.
