"Hold that tiger! Hold that tiger!"

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, "Tucker: The Man and His Dream," the acclaimed Preston Tucker biopic from Oscar-winning filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, Apocalypse Now), is going to be released later this month for the first time ever on Blu-Ray.

Check out a new Blu-Ray trailer for Coppola's dazzling period drama, which casts Jeff Bridges as Michigan-born automotive entrepreneur Preston Tucker, who, in the late 1940s, was faced with mounting opposition from "the Big Three" (the largest automobile manufacturers in America: General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler) when he attempted to self-manufacture his own revolutionary "Car of Tomorrow" design, the 1948 Tucker Sedan, aka "the Tucker Torpedo."

Featuring an Oscar-nominated supporting performance from Martin Landau as Tucker's business partner Abe Karatz, the 1988 film, which was co-produced under Coppola's company Zoetrope Studios and George Lucas' Lucasfilm, also starred Joan Allen and Christian Slater as Tucker's wife and teenage son, with Elias Koteas, Frederic Forrest, and Mako playing the only members of Tucker's car design and build department.

With guest appearances by Dean Stockwell as Howard Hughes and Lloyd Bridges as Michigan Senator Homer Ferguson, "Tucker: The Man and His Dream" is coming to Blu-Ray and Digital 4K Ultra HD on August 28th.

synopsis:
Jeff Bridges gives a dazzling performance as Preston Tucker, a dynamic automotive visionary determined to create the car of the future. Against all odds, Tucker builds the Tucker Torpedo, and the better, safer and more beautiful his car becomes the more opposition stiffens until his factory is shut down by Detroit's Big Three auto manufacturers.

Tucker must fight for his American Dream in this passion-project film from Academy Award-winning director Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather).
