Jim Carrey erupts like a human volcano filled with "magma" in the new official trailer for the Showtime series "Kidding."
"I have a tremendous amount of pent-up anger inside me. And everyday it grows and grows," says Carrey, who, in his first starring TV role in over two decades, plays Jeff Pickles, aka "Mr. Pickles," a beloved children's television personality who is sent into an existential tailspin after he is caught cheating on his wife (played by Judy Greer).
Acclaimed "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" director Michel Gondry is directing the entire first season of the upcoming ten-episode drama, which was created by Dave Holstein (Weeds, I'm Dying Up Here).
Catherine Keener, Riki Lindhome, Justin Kirk, and Frank Langella are among the cast of the Showtime series, which is slated to premiere Sunday, September 9th on Showtime. Watch the new trailer, above.
synopsis:
In his first series regular role in over two decades, Jim Carrey stars as Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children's television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America's impressionable young minds, who also anchors a multimillion-dollar branding empire. But when Jeff's family begins to implode, he finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through the crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope. The result: a kind man in a cruel world faces a slow leak of sanity as hilarious as it is heartbreaking.
