HBO has released the first official teaser trailer for Season 2 of the critically acclaimed series "The Deuce."

Starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco as 1970s hustlers trying to make it on the gritty streets of New York City, the HBO drama hails from "The Wire" creator David Simon and acclaimed crime novelist George Pelecanos.

Told from multiple perspectives with multiple characters, while exploring the rise of New York's adult film industry in the late '70s, "The Deuce" casts Gyllenhaal as a street-savvy former prostitute named Candy who is trying to break into the porn business as a film director. Meanwhile, Franco is playing twin brothers Vincent and Frankie Martino, local bar owners who own money to the mob.

The cast also includes Emily Meade, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Margarita Levieva, Chris Bauer, David Krumholtz, Michael Rispoli, and Ralph Macchio.

"The Deuce: Season 2" will premiere September 9th on HBO.
