FX has released the official U.S. trailer for "Mr Inbetween," an Australian hitman series that will be airing in the States next month.

Created by and starring Australian actor Scott Ryan, the character-driven drama is based on Ryan's 2005 low-budget pseudo-documentary "The Magician," which chronicled the daily life of a Melbourne hitman-for-hire named Ray Shoesmith.

Ryan reprises the Ray Shoesmith character as he now finds himself trying to work on his anger issues, while also wrestling with the responsibility of being a good father.

Stuntman-turned-film director Nash Edgerton (Gringo, The Square), who is also the brother of actor Joel Edgerton, is directing the entire first season of "Mr Inbetween," which co-stars Damon Herriman (FX's Justified), Brooke Satchwell, Natalie Tran, Justin Rosniak (Animal Kingdom), Matt Nable (Hacksaw Ridge), and Chika Yasumura.

Produced by Blue-Tongue Films and Jungle Entertainment, "Mr Inbetween" is set to premiere in the U.S. on September 25th on FX.

Mr Inbetween is an FX original drama series created by and starring Scott Ryan as Ray Shoesmith -- a father, ex-husband, boyfriend and best friend. Tough roles to juggle in the modern age. Even harder when you're a criminal for hire.
