Gerard Butler sails into war in the official trailer for "Hunter Killer."
From the producers of "Fast & Furious" and "Olympus Has Fallen," this underwater Naval thriller casts the "300" star as an American submarine captain who is tasked with tracking down a missing U.S. sub through enemy territory -- only to have his orders change drastically when the Russian president is suddenly taken hostage during a military coup.
The film also sees Oscar-winning "Darkest Hour" star Gary Oldman as a high-ranking Naval officer. Rounding out the cast is rapper-turned-actor Common, Netflix's "Bloodline" actress Linda Cardellini, and Netflix's "Lost in Space" star Toby Stephens.
Directed by South African filmmaker Donovan Marsh (Avenged, Spud), "Hunter Killer" is hitting theaters October 26th.
synopsis:
Deep under the Arctic Ocean, American submarine Captain Joe Glass (Gerard Butler) is on the hunt for a U.S. sub in distress when he discovers a secret Russian coup is in the offing, threatening to dismantle the world order. With crew and country on the line, Captain Glass must now assemble an elite group of Navy SEALs to rescue the kidnapped Russian president and sneak through enemy waters to stop WWIII.
