Get your first look at Season 2 of the hit CBS streaming series "Star Trek: Discovery."

The trailer, which just premiered at San Diego Comic Con, offers an exciting peek at Starfleet's next adventure, which sees science first officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) working under USS Discovery new chief Saru (Doug Jones, in full prosthetic makeup) as they welcome a special guest on their ship. It's Christopher Pike, the Captain of the USS Enterprise (played here by former "Hell on Wheels" and "Marvel's Inhumans" star Anson Mount).

"I'm here to take command of the Discovery under regulation 19 section C," Captain Pike informs a stunned Saru and Burnham in the official preview for the "Star Trek" drama, which takes place several years before the events of the original series. (Side note: the Pike character originally appeared in the 1965 "Star Trek" pilot but ended up being replaced by the now-legendary Captain Kirk character.)

Anson Mount isn't the only new cast member to join the show this season, as we also get a look at comedian Tig Notaro as a new Starfleet officer, who appears to be bringing a touch of levity to the series.

"Star Trek: Discovery" is set to return in early 2019, premiering exclusively on the streaming service CBS All Access.
