Assassination Nation — Red Band Trailer

added: Tue, Jul 17th '18

What happens when a small American suburban town gets hacked by a notorious computer hacker? Well, in the case of "Assassination Nation," a darkly satirical high school thriller from writer-director Sam Levinson (Another Happy Day), it seems everyone loses their f-ing minds!

Check out a new red band trailer for one of the most buzzed-about films at Sundance this year, which stars Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, and Abra as four social media-obsessed teenage girls who find themselves swept up in an escalating wave of blood-soaked violence after private photos and text messages are maliciously released to the public for everyone to see and read.

Co-starring Bill Skarsgard, Bella Thorne, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, and Joel McHale, the film, since premiering at Sundance, was quickly acquired by "Avengers: Infinity War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo with the intent to be released under their newly-minted production label, AGBO.

While working in partnership with the Russo Brothers, NEON, the distributor behind such films as "I, Tonya" and "Ingrid Goes West," is planning to release "Assassination Nation" in theaters beginning September 21st.

(The film will have a panel at San Diego Comic-Con later this week.)

High school senior Lily and her group of friends live in a haze of texts, posts, selfies and chats just like the rest of the world. So, when an anonymous hacker starts posting details from the private lives of everyone in their small town, the result is absolute madness leaving Lily and her friends questioning whether they'll live through the night.
