A weather observer is sent to work at a decrepit lighthouse on a faraway island near the Antarctic Circle, only to stumble upon an incredible secret -- the shoreline is literally crawling with human-like sea creatures!

Check out the new U.S. trailer for "Cold Skin," a genre-bending monster movie that stars English TV actor David Oakes (from the period dramas "Victoria," "The White Queen," and "The Borgias") and Irish actor Ray Stevenson (from the pirate series "Black Sails" and the "Thor" films) as a couple of unlikely lighthouse keepers who discover their island is frequently visited by strange aquatic invaders.

Inspired by the WWI-set fantasy novel of the same name by Spanish-born author Albert Sanchez Pinol, the film, which also stars Spanish actress Aura Garrido (Stockholm) as a captured female fish creature, is directed by French-born genre director Xavier Gens, who previously helmed the sci-fi thriller "The Divide," the French horror movie "Frontier(s)" and the videogame movie "Hitman."

"Cold Skin" will make its Stateside debut later this year, hitting theaters and VOD/Digital on September 7th.

synopsis:
On the edge of the Antarctic circle, a steamship approaches a desolate island. On board is a young man, poised to take up the post of weather observer, to live in solitude far from civilization. But on shore he finds no trace of the man he has been sent to replace, just a deranged brute in the lighthouse who has witnessed a horror he refuses to name. For the next twelve months his entire world will consist of a deserted cabin, rocks, silence and the surrounding sea. Then night begins to fall…
