TNT has released the first official trailer for "I Am The Night," the upcoming L.A. mystery series from "Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins, which stars "Wonder Woman" actor Chris Pine.

The six-part suspense thriller, in which Jenkins directs the premiere episode, is inspired by the incredible true story of Fauna Hodel, a young white teenage girl who, in the late 1940s and early 50s, was raised by a black family and grew up believing she was bi-racial, but later discovered her biological father was Dr. George Hodel, a Hollywood gynecologist who is believed by many to be the notorious "Black Dahlia" killer.

India Eisley (TV's The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Underworld Awakening, Kite) stars as Fauna Hodel, while Pine plays a washed-up L.A. reporter who is able to connect Fauna's dark family history with the unsolved 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short, a.k.a. the Black Dahlia.

Co-starring Jefferson Mays, Leland Orser, Connie Nielsen, Golden Brooks, and Yul Vazquez, "I Am The Night" is executive produced by Jenkins and Pine, along with "Mindhunter" and "House of Cards" director Carl Franklin, who will also direct a few episodes.

The limited series is currently slated to premiere January 2019 on TNT.
