Comedian David Spade plays a middle-aged burnout who just wants to make his teenage son proud of him in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix comedy "Father of the Year."

Produced under Adam Sandler's production company 'Happy Madison,' the film casts Spade as a drunken, down-and-out dad who learns that his son (played by Disney Channel sitcom star Joey Bragg, of "Liv and Maddie") believes he would lose in a fist fight between him and his friend's nerdy father (played by comic actor Nat Faxon).

And upon hearing this news, Spade's character does what any reasonable dad would do in that situation -- he challenges the other father to a real fight!

Comedian and commercial/TV director Tyler Spindel directs the Netflix original film from a script he co-wrote with Brandon Cournoyer.

Co-starring Matt Shively (from TV's "The Real O'Neals") and Bridgit Mendler (from Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" and TV's "Undateable"), "Father of the Year" is set to premiere July 20th on Netflix.

When a drunken debate between two recent college graduates about whose father would win in a fight is taken seriously by their idiot dads, jobs are lost, relationships ruined, futures destroyed, and best friends come of age as they come to grips with who their fathers really are.
