Netflix has released the official U.S. trailer for "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society," director Mike Newell's adaptation of Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows' best-selling post-WWII novel.

The 1946-set British drama stars Lily James (Downton Abbey, Darkest Hour, Cinderella) as an intrepid London reporter who finds herself researching the story of how a supportive group of eccentric English locals from the island of Guernsey had formed a small book club during the German occupation.

The cast also includes "Game of Thrones" actor Michiel Huisman, Matthew Goode (from "The Imitation Game" and "Watchmen"), and American actor Glen Powell, who recently starred in Netflix's hit rom-com "Set It Up."

The British film, which is directed by Newell, who is perhaps best known for directing "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," has already been released in the U.K. this past April, but will make its Stateside debut this summer, arriving on Netflix on August 10th.
