The Predator — New Official Trailer

A brand-new official trailer has been released for director Shane Black's "The Predator," which is the latest installment in the popular sci-fi horror film series about a hard-to-kill extraterrestrial headhunter looking for its next prey.

Shane Black, the acclaimed co-writer and director of the Marvel blockbuster "Iron Man 3" and who also wrote and directed the cult detective comedies "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and "The Nice Guys," is offering his unique snarky take on the alien monster franchise, which started off with the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger action film classic. (Fun Fact: Black had acted in a few movies back in the 1980s, and he is also known for playing the wise-cracking mercenary "Hawkins" in the original "Predator" movie.)

This time, however, Boyd Holbrook (from "Logan" and the Netflix series "Narcos") is the one taking on the hero role as an ex-military Ranger who must protect his young son (played here by Jacob Tremblay, of "Room" and "Wonder" fame) when a mysterious alien spacecraft suddenly lands on Earth and the "Ultimate Predator" reveals itself to the world.

The cast also includes Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), comedian Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid's Tale), Niall Matter (TV's Eureka), Augusto Aguilera (TV's Chasing Life), Thomas Jane (The Mist), and Jake Busey (Starship Troopers).

Directed by Black from an original script he co-wrote with filmmaker Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad, RoboCop 3), "The Predator" is coming to theaters on September 14th.
