Theo James and Forest Whitaker embark on a dangerous search-and-rescue mission in the trailer for Netflix's apocalypse thriller "How It Ends."

When the entire west coast of the United States is suddenly hit by a mysterious cataclysmic event, causing numerous blackouts throughout America, a panic-stricken businessman (James) is forced to team up with his ex-military father-in-law (Whitaker) to race through a lawless and chaotic country to rescue his pregnant wife (played by The Vampire Diaries' Kat Graham) who is now stuck alone in the city.

The Netflix film, which co-stars "Halt and Catch Fire" alums Mark O'Brien and Kerry Bishe, is directed by David M. Rosenthal, director of 2013's Sam Rockwell-starring crime thriller "A Single Shot" and 2015's abusive boyfriend thriller "The Perfect Guy" with Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy.

Written by Brooks McLaren, "How It Ends" premieres July 13th on Netflix.
