Where the hell did Margot go?

John Cho (Star Trek, Harold & Kumar) is a frantic father trying to find his missing 16-year-old daughter, Margot, in the new trailer for "Searching."

The Sundance-winning thriller, which unfolds completely on a computer screen, centers on a widowed father (Cho) who gradually realizes that his teenage daughter is presumed missing -- and she could possibly have been kidnapped or could be in serious, serious danger.

The action follows Cho's character as he breaks into his daughter's laptop and scrolls through hundreds of social media sites and Facebook and YouTube accounts. But while tracing her steps on what were her last days before disappearing, he starts to notice that his daughter had kept things from him. Secrets that she never revealed to anyone, let alone her own father.

Directed by former Google advertisement creator/web filmmaker Aneesh Chaganty from a script he co-wrote with producer Sev Ohanian, "Searching" was one of the breakout hits of Sundance this year. It's now scheduled to hit theaters August 3rd.

synopsis:
After David Kim (John Cho)'s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter's digital footprints before she disappears forever.
