Netflix's Last Chance U: Season 3 — Official Trailer

Netflix's Emmy-nominated college football documentary series "Last Chance U" returns for its third season, and the streaming company has just released an official trailer.

Hailing from acclaimed documentary filmmaker Greg Whiteley (Mitt, Resolved), the docu-series chronicles the trials and tribulations of several community college football players who come from broken homes and rough neighborhoods.

While the previous two seasons had centered on a championship-winning football program at East Mississippi Community College, Season 3 will instead travel to a new town and focus on a new football team with a new unconventional coach:

Meet the Independence Pirates! They're a Junior College Football team from Independence, Kansas. And after enduring several losing seasons, they're looking to turn things around with the help of a new coach ... Coach Jason Brown! He's a white guy from the hood -- Compton, California to be specific. And he's a self-described "cold hustler."

"Last Chance U: Season 3" is set to premiere July 20th on Netflix.

A gut-wrenching behind-the-scenes look at the world of college football. Inspired by the GQ article of the same name, Last Chance U follows the stories of elite athletes in tough life circumstances who struggle to find their redemption on a champion community college football team and hopefully realize their dreams of competing at the next level.

Last Chance U is back for another season and this year, it's a whole new field - as the series moves to Independence, Kansas! After years of losing seasons, Coach Jason Brown and the Independence Pirates vie for a spot amongst the best in the Junior College Football ranks.
