Bill Pullman has returned to solve another baffling murder case in the official trailer for Season 2 of the critically acclaimed Golden Globe-nominated detective series "The Sinner."

With Carrie Coon (Fargo, The Leftovers) and Tracy Letts (Lady Bird, Divorce) now joining the Derek Simonds-created mystery series, Season 2 is centering on a brand-new twisty crime case. This time, the story will revolve around an 11-year-old boy (played by Elisha Henig, from the short-lived Zach Braff-starring sitcom "Alex, Inc."), who is accused of killing his parents, despite having no apparent motive.

Jessica Biel, who starred in the first season of the "whydunit" drama, won't be returning to the cast. However, she is staying on the show as an executive producer.

Based on the international bestseller by German crime novelist Petra Hammesfahr, "The Sinner: Season 2" is premiering Wednesday, August 1st on USA Network.

"The Sinner" Season 2 lures Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) back to his hometown in rural New York to assess an unsettling and heart wrenching crime -- parents murdered by their 11-year-old son, with no apparent motive. As Ambrose realizes there's nothing ordinary about the boy or where he came from, the investigation pulls him into the hidden darkness of his hometown. He's pitted against those who'll stop at nothing to protect its secrets -- and the mysterious Vera (Carrie Coon) who proves to be a complicated, enigmatic piece to this haunting puzzle.
