Marvel's Luke Cage: Season 2 — New Trailer

added: Tue, Jun 12th '18

People need a hero. But with every hero, there's a villain. Or in the case of Luke Cage, there's two.

Check out a brand new trailer for the upcoming Second Season of Netflix's Marvel superhero series, in which Harlem's own defender Luke Cage finds himself battling two menacing foes: shady councilwoman Black Mariah (once again played by Alfre Woodard) and the mysterious bulletproof Bushmaster (played by The Deuce's Mustafa Shakir).

Season 2, which will also see the returns of badass nurse Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) and one-armed detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick), takes place after the events of "The Defenders" mini-series, in which Cage (Mike Colter) has returned to the streets of Harlem where he has become something of a local celebrity. But soon Cage's neighborhood turns into a bloody war zone when two "devils" -- Black Mariah and Bushmaster -- try to take over the city at the same time.

Executive produced by Cheo Hodari Coker (Notorious, Ray Donovan) and co-starring Theo Rossi as Black Mariah's right-hand man "Shades" and Rosewood's Gabrielle Dennis as holistic doctor Tilda Johnson (better known in the comic books as "Nightshade"), "Luke Cage: Season 2" is due to start streaming next week, on Friday, June 22nd.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
