Showtime has released the very first teaser trailer for "Kidding," a new original series starring Jim Carrey as a popular children's television personality named "Mr. Pickles," who finds himself in an existential crisis after his wife (played by Judy Greer) leaves him.
Created by Dave Holstein (Weeds, I'm Dying Up Here), "Kidding" also stars Catherine Keener, Justin Kirk, Bernard White, Ginger Gonzaga, and Frank Langella.
Acclaimed music video and film director Michel Gondry, who previously worked with Carrey on the beloved Charlie Kaufman-penned film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," is executive producing the series, as well as directing the entire ten-episode first season.
"Kidding," which is Carrey's first series regular role in over two decades, will premiere Sunday, September 9th on Showtime.

In his first series regular role in over two decades, Jim Carrey stars as Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children's television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America's impressionable young minds, who also anchors a multimillion-dollar branding empire. But when Jeff's family begins to implode, he finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through the crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope. The result: a kind man in a cruel world faces a slow leak of sanity as hilarious as it is heartbreaking.
