Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers (from TV's "Vikings" and "Mission: Impossible III") plays an undercover spy who, while on a dangerous mission in Syria, learns he's being used as bait in the espionage thriller "Damascus Cover."

The film, which also stars Olivia Thirlby (Dredd, Juno) and features the last screen performance by the late, English actor John Hurt, is based on the 1977 book by renowned spy novelist Howard Kaplan.

Directed and co-written by Daniel Zelik Berk, the film follows Ari Ben-Sion (Meyers), an undercover Mossad agent who, while posing as a successful German businessman operating in the old Syrian city of Damascus, finds himself being used as an expendable pawn in a high-stakes political game.

"Damascus Cover" will be released in theaters and VOD on July 20th.

synopsis:
