The first official trailer has dropped for "The Girl in the Spider's Web," the forthcoming English-language film adaptation of 2015's best-selling crime novel by Swedish author Stieg Larsson, the famed creator of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" franchise.

The dark crime thriller sees Golden Globe-winning British actress Claire Foy, of the Netflix series "The Crown," taking over the role of vigilante hacker Lisbeth Salander in a story about a new underground investigation in which Lisbeth finds herself confronting her radical past.

Fede Alvarez, the acclaimed Uruguayan-born director of the horror thrillers 2016's "Don't Breathe" and 2013's "Evil Dead," directs this latest chapter in the "Millennium" series, which also stars Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason (Borg vs McEnroe) as crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist.

Co-starring Blade Runner 2049's Sylvia Hoeks as a mysterious platinum blonde woman from Lisbeth's past and "Get Out" star Lakeith Stanfield as an unrelenting NSA officer trying to track down Lisbeth, "The Girl in the Spider's Web" will be hitting theaters on November 9th.

Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in The Girl in the Spider's Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller.

Golden Globe winner Claire Foy (the star of "The Crown") plays the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016's breakout thriller "Don't Breathe"; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.
