Acclaimed British filmmaker Steve McQueen is back with his first feature since directing the Oscar-winning film "12 Years a Slave."

Check out the first official trailer for "Widows," McQueen's forthcoming gritty crime thriller that stars Oscar-winner Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, and Broadway actress Cynthia Erivo as four widows who have decided to band together and carry out a dangerous heist after their criminal husbands (Liam Neeson, Jon Bernthal, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) are suddenly killed during a botched robbery, which leaves the grieving wives on their own as they try to fend off both the police (Colin Farrell) and ruthless gangsters (Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya and Atlanta's Brian Tyree Henry).

Based on Lynda La Plante's novel of the same name and adapted by McQueen and "Gone Girl" writer Gillian Flynn, the film also co-stars Robert Duvall, Garret Dillahunt, Carrie Coon, Jacki Weaver, Lukas Haas, and Kevin J. O'Connor.

"Widows" is currently scheduled to open in theaters on November 16th.

Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, tensions build when Veronica (Oscar-winner Viola Davis), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.
