Comic actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter Jim Rash (Community, The Descendants) stars alongside fellow comedian David Koechner (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), playing a couple of old college friends who reconnect after 30 years apart in the trailer for "Bernard and Huey," an indie film that's directed by Slamdance Film Festival co-founder Dan Mirvish.

The film, which is an examination of two narcissistic men who are nothing alike yet share a commonality in creating failed relationships with women, is based on an old, long-lost script by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist and acclaimed screenwriter Jules Feiffer, who is perhaps best known for writing the 1960 Oscar-winning animated short "Munro" and also writing the screenplay for the Mike Nichols-directed 1971 classic "Carnal Knowledge."

"Bernard and Huey" co-stars Mae Whitman (TV's Parenthood), Sasha Alexander (TV's Rizzoli & Isles), Nancy Travis (TV's Last Man Standing), Bellamy Young (TV's Scandal), Lauren Miller Rogen (For a Good Time, Call...), Eka Darville (Jessica Jones), and Richard Kind (Red Oaks).

The film is hitting select theaters and VOD and Digital HD on June 8th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Directed by Slamdance Film Festival co-founder Dan Mirvish from a long-lost script by Oscar/Pulitzer-winner Jules Feiffer (Mike Nichols' CARNAL KNOWLEDGE, Robert Altman's POPEYE), BERNARD AND HUEY is the story of roguish Huey (David Koechner) and nebbishy Bernard (Oscar-winner Jim Rash), who are unlikely friends in late 1980s New York. Years later, a bedraggled Huey crashes at Bernard's upscale bachelor pad. As the two reconnect, Bernard starts a relationship with Huey's estranged daughter Zelda (Mae Whitman), an aspiring graphic novelist. Huey slowly gets his mojo back and tries to seduce various women in Bernard's life, while reconnecting with his family. As the two friends return to their old ways, at least one of them finds himself in danger of marrying a woman old enough to be his wife. An award-winning film that screened at over 30 festivals in 5 continents, BERNARD AND HUEY is a particularly timely story of two men behaving badly, and the strong women who rein them in.
