FX's Snowfall: Season 2 — Official Trailer

FX has just released the official trailer for Season 2 of the 1984-set L.A. crime series "Snowfall," which is executive produced and co-created by "Boyz n the Hood" filmmaker John Singleton.

Set in South Central Los Angeles during the rise of the crack cocaine epidemic of the mid '80s, the series stars Damson Idris as Franklin Saint, a streetwise teenager-turned-drug dealer who, despite a lack of experience in drug dealing, has launched a rapidly growing crack cocaine empire with the help of his childhood friend, Leon (played by Isaiah John), and his small-time weed-dealing uncle, Jerome (Amin Joseph).

But as his business grows and steps closer to the big leagues, Franklin is forced to forge connections outside the neighborhood, setting up a dangerous deal with the niece of a Mexican crime lord (Emily Rios), a Mexican luchador-turned-drug enforcer (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), and a rogue undercover CIA operative (Carter Hudson).

Also, co-starring Michael Hyatt and Angela Lewis with Alon Moni Aboutboul returning as the psychotic Israeli cocaine king Avi Drexler, "Snowfall," which is also co-created and executive produced by Eric Amadio and Dave Andron (Justified), will be back with new episodes beginning Thursday, July 19th on FX.

Snowfall continues its riveting story about the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it.

Season two follows our ensemble of characters as they intersect and overlap within the mosaic of Los Angeles as we enter 1984. All of them are working toward their ultimate goals of money, power, and influence including: Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), a young street entrepreneur beginning to experience the perils of success; Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), a CIA operative who finds that his off-book drug-funded operation may be vulnerable from unexpected sources, both personal and professional; and Gustavo "El Oso" Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta) and Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios), the drug-running couple who discover the potency of crack and try to exploit it, despite the new dangers involved.
