Christopher Robin is all grown up now. But he still needs the love and support of his imaginary friends, perhaps even more than ever.

Check out the new full-length trailer for Disney's "Christopher Robin," which stars Ewan McGregor as the adult version of the titular boy character from A. A. Milne's classic "Winnie-the-Pooh" children's books.

Inspired by both the classic children's stories and the beloved Disney cartoons, the film is a fantasy-tinged period drama that portrays Christopher Robin (McGregor), who was once an inventive boy with imaginary animal friends, as now a struggling yet devoted family man with an adoring wife (played by Hayley Atwell) and young precocious daughter (newcomer Bronte Carmichael).

Though it's been decades since he last saw and talked to his old imaginary playmate, the winsome teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh (played here by veteran voice actor Jim Cummings, of the 1990s "Winnie-the-Pooh" cartoons), Christopher, who has just learned that his company is firing 20 percent of his staff, is surprised to discover that Pooh is suddenly back in his life again.

Well, not just Pooh. Everybody is back! Tigger, the bouncy orange stuffed tiger, is back (this time, voiced by comic actor Chris O'Dowd)! Eeyore, the gloomy grey stuffed donkey (voiced by Everybody Loves Raymond's Brad Garrett), is also back, as well as Owl, Piglet, Rabbit, and Kanga (voiced by Toby Jones, Nick Mohammed, Peter Capaldi, and Sophie Okonedo, respectively).

Marc Forster, director of "Finding Neverland," "Stranger than Fiction" and "World War Z," directs the upcoming film from a screenplay co-written by filmmaker Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip) and "Hidden Figures" scribe Allison Schroeder, based on a story by Alex Ross Perry.

"Christopher Robin" opens August 3rd.
