2018 is turning out to be quite a year for Josh Brolin. After starring in two of this year's biggest superhero movies with "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Deadpool 2," Brolin will quickly be back on the big screen, reprising his role as hardened CIA operative Matt Graver in the upcoming narco-crime sequel "Sicario: Day of the Soldado," for which a brand-new trailer has been released.

Benicio del Toro is also back as former narco hitman-turned-DEA assassin Alejandro Gillick in the new Taylor Sheridan-penned thriller, which sees Alejandro teaming up with Graver for another black-ops mission, in which they must ignite a blood war between rival drug cartels in Mexico.

Directed by Italian action-crime helmer Stefano Sollima (Suburra), the film, which is the follow-up to 2015's critically acclaimed Denis Villeneuve-directed thriller, co-stars Jeffrey Donovan, Catherine Keener, and Matthew Modine.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" and "Nickelodeon" star Isabela Moner also co-stars as the young teenage daughter of a notorious Mexican drug-lord who is abducted in a kidnapping plot that was secretly orchestrated by Graver, only to those plans thwarted when Alejandro decides to disobey his orders to protect the girl.

"Sicario: Day of the Soldado" is hitting theaters next month beginning June 29th.

synopsis:
In SICARIO: Day of the Soldado, the series begins a new chapter. In the drug war, there are no rules – and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict – but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for.
