AnnaSophia Robb (Bridge to Terabithia, The Carrie Diaries) plays a rebellious teen who is sent to a spooky boarding school that turns out to be haunted in the newly-released trailer for "Down A Dark Hall," which also stars Uma Thurman as the school's eccentric headmistress.

Based on the 1974 supernatural suspense novel by author Lois Duncan, of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" fame, the Gothic thriller centers on a group of troubled teenage girls who are sent to a mysterious boarding school, where they soon discover the house is plagued by evil forces and dark secrets, along with the school's main principal (played by Thurman).

Produced by "Twilight" creator/novelist Stephenie Meyer, the film also stars Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), Victoria Moroles (MTV's Teen Wolf), Noah Silver (The Tribes of Palos Verdes), Taylor Russell (TNT's Falling Skies), and Rosie Day (STARZ's Outlander).

The film is helmed by Spanish-born filmmaker Rodrigo Cortes, who is best known for directing the Ryan Reynolds-starring cult thriller "Buried" and the Robert De Niro-starring psychic thriller "Red Lights."

"Down A Dark Hall" will be released on August 17th.

synopsis:
