TV actor Simon Baker (The Mentalist) makes his feature directorial debut with "Breath," a coming-of-age surfer drama about two teenage boys (played by newcomers Samson Coulter and Ben Spence) who become surfing buddies while growing up in a small idyllic coastal town of Australia during the mid 1970s.

Based on the international best-selling novel by award-winning Australian author Tim Winton (The Turning, Shallows, Dirt Music), the film also stars Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki (The Night Manager, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and veteran Australian actor Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge, Hacksaw Ridge).

Baker also co-stars in the film as an adventurous older surfer who ends up befriending the two boys during a life-changing summer.

Adapted for the screen by Baker and "Top of the Lake" scribe Gerard Lee, "Breath" is due to open theatrically in New York on June 1st and then in Los Angeles on June 8th. Watch the U.S. trailer, above.
