Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming teen comedy "Alex Strangelove," which comes from the director of "The Skeleton Twins" and "Wilson."

The movie stars Daniel Doheny (Adventures in Public School) as "Alex Truelove," a nerdy high school senior grappling with his sexual identity. Despite having a longtime girlfriend, Alex begins to develop feelings for an openly gay student whom he had just met.

The cast also includes Madeline Weinstein (Beach Rats) as Alex's sexually frustrated girlfriend, Claire, and Antonio Marziale (Netflix's Altered Carbon) as Alex's new gay friend-turned-crush.

The Netflix original film is written and directed by Craig Johnson (The Skeleton Twins, Wilson) and produced by comedian Ben Stiller, alongside Nicky Weinstock and Jared Ian Goldman (Ingrid Goes West).

"Alex Strangelove" will start streaming on June 8th.

ALEX STRANGELOVE tells the story of Alex Truelove (Daniel Doheny), a well-rounded high school senior with a wonderful girlfriend Claire (Madeline Weinstein) and a bright future ahead of him -- and with plans to achieve his last teenage milestone by losing his virginity. But things get complicated when he meets Elliot (Antonio Marziale), a handsome and charming gay kid from the other side of town, who unwittingly sends Alex on a rollercoaster journey of sexual identity, kicking off a hilarious and moving exploration of love, sex and friendship in our liberated and confusing modern times.
