What if Beavis and Butt-Head were a couple of young stoner waitresses? And they were hopelessly trying to get to the beach on their day off from work? Well, it may look something like this!

Check out the newly-released red band trailer for "Never Goin' Back." It's an irreverent slacker-comedy about two potty-mouthed high-school dropouts, Jessie and Angela (played by Death Wish's Camila Morrone and The Fosters' Maia Mitchell).

In order to go to the beach and get messed up, Jessie and Angela have decided to take some time off from their waitressing jobs. But things don't go as smoothly as they planned.

The film is written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Augustine Frizzell, who is also the wife of filmmaker David Lowery (Pete's Dragon, Ain't Them Bodies Saints). Lowery also served as a producer on the movie.

Co-starring SNL cast member Kyle Mooney (Brigsby Bear), "Never Goin' Back" premiered at this year's Sundance and also played at SXSW, where it received mostly positive reviews.

The film, acquired by A24, has been scheduled to open in select theaters on August 3rd.

synopsis:
Jessie and Angela, high school dropout BFFs, are taking a week off to chill at the beach. Too bad their house got robbed, rent's due, they're about to get fired and they're broke. Now they've gotta avoid eviction, stay out of jail and get to the beach, no matter what!
