Penelope Cruz can't seem to resist the devilish charms of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (played here by Cruz's real-life husband, Javier Bardem) in the new U.S. trailer for the English-language narco-thriller "Loving Pablo."

"That day I decided that I don't care about how Pablo makes his money -- only how he uses it," says Cruz who is portraying Virginia Vallejo, a real-life popular Colombian broadcast journalist who in the mid 1980s engaged in a secret love affair with the notorious kingpin. She was eventually forced to cooperate with the D.E.A. in exchange for immunity.

Based on Vallejo's memoir "Loving Pablo, Hating Escobar," the film also stars Peter Sarsgaard (Hulu's The Looming Tower, The Magnificent Seven) as an American DEA agent trying to build a criminal case against Escobar.

Written and directed by acclaimed Spanish filmmaker Fernando Leon de Aranoa (A Perfect Day), "Loving Pablo" will be making its way to the States next month, hitting theaters and VOD on June 15th.
