Check out the trailer for "The Hollow Child," an upcoming horror movie about a little girl who goes missing in the woods, only to come back home as a changed person -- possibly a supernatural imposter with homicidal tendencies.

Playing around with a folklore tale about children-snatching trolls who secretly hide in the forest, the indie chiller stars Hannah Cheramy (SYFY's Van Helsing, Colossal) as the young missing girl, Olivia, while Jessica McLeod is playing her older sister, Samantha, who is the first to realize that something is not quite right about Olivia. She's different somehow.

The film is directed by first-time feature filmmaker Jeremy Lutter, who previously made the award-winning shorts "Reset," "Joanna Makes a Friend," and "Gord's Brother." Screenwriter Ben Rollo, the writer of "Joanna Makes a Friend" and "Gord's Brother," is also making his feature film debut with "The Hollow Child."

The film is due to be released on May 18th in the U.S.

synopsis:
Highly intelligent and malicious creatures known as The Hollow Ones live in the Woods and entice children with their hypnotic folklore music.
