Superfly — Official Trailer

Trevor Jackson (from the TV series "Grown-ish" and the college-hazing drama "Burning Sands") is redefining the hustle in the new official trailer for "Superfly," the upcoming action remake of the classic 1972 blaxploitation film of the same name.

Also starring Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton), Michael Kenneth Williams (HBO's The Wire), and Lex Scott Davis (The First Purge), the film, which is now set in the city of Atlanta, follows a rising street hustler-turned-local drug lord named Youngblood Priest (Jackson) as he sets out to pull off one last big score. Of course, this means he will have to go directly to the source, and in doing so, piss off the Mexican Cartel.

Directed by music video helmer "Director X," written by Alex Tse (Watchmen) and produced by Joel Silver (The Matrix Trilogy), the action thriller also co-stars Esai Morales (Netflix's Ozark, La Bamba), Andrea Londo (Netflix's Narcos), and Jennifer Morrison (TV's Once Upon a Time) with appearances by hip hop artists Rick Ross, Big Boi, and Big Bank Black.

Featuring an original soundtrack produced by Future, "Superfly" is hitting theaters June 15th.

Superfly -- the film that helped define a genre in its characters, look, sound, and feel -- is reimagined with Director X, director of legendary music videos (Drake, Rihanna), introducing it to a new generation.
