Director Terry Gilliam's embattled film "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote," which is finally near completion after a difficult and long-gestating production process that begun more than a decade ago with several delays and false starts, has been scheduled to make its world premiere in a couple of weeks at the Cannes Film Festival. Or at least, that's what Gilliam is hoping to see as a former disgruntled producer on the film is currently threatening legal action to prevent it from being screened in France.

It seems time will tell whether or not Gilliam's fantasy-tinged comedy -- which stars "Star Wars" actor Adam Driver as an ad executive trying to shoot a Don Quixote-themed commercial, only to see his main star (played by Jonathan Pryce) become completely convinced that he is the fictional 17th-century Spanish knight -- will get the chance to close out the Cannes Festival on May 19th. Albeit, at the moment, Cannes officials are refusing to pull it off the schedule and are firmly siding with Gilliam.

In the mean time, a brand-new international trailer for "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" has been released online. Watch it above and wait for more news of the film's release date, which we can only assume will generate future legal disputes between Gilliam and his ex-producer.
