Two highly-competitive high school debate champions gradually develop a mutual respect for each other when their school puts them together on the same debate team.

Check out the official trailer for "Candy Jar," a new Netflix original movie that tells a sweet, quirky story about an overachieving high school girl (played by TV's "Blue Bloods" actress Sami Gayle) who is forced to pair up with her number-one debate rival, an equally overachieving and brilliant student (played by rising actor Jacob Latimore, from Showtime's "The Chi" and the street magician thriller "Sleight").

While butting heads as they prepare for the state debate championship as a two-person team, these two young debating competitors find common ground when they realize that they are more alike than they are different.

Co-starring Mad Men's Christina Hendricks and Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba as the kids' respective mothers with Oscar-winner Helen Hunt playing a guidance counselor, "Candy Jar" is directed by Ben Shelton, who previously wrote and directed the semi-reality web series "The Daly Show" about TV actor Tim Daly and his son, Sam.

"Candy Jar" is premiering next week, April 27th, on Netflix.
