The last time we saw him, he went up against the Russian mob, and won. Now Robert McCall is going to war. So, someone better call 911.

Check out the newly-released official trailer for "The Equalizer 2," the upcoming sequel to the hit action thriller that stars two-time Oscar-winner Denzel Washington as Robert McCall, a retired special ops government assassin who secretly moonlights as a justice-seeking vigilante.

Based on the 1980s television series, the film sees Washington (in his first ever sequel of his career) back as McCall, who is working as an ordinary Lyft driver when he gets the call that an old friend (played by Oscar-winner Melissa Leo) has been brutally assassinated. Wanting to exact revenge on the people responsible for her murder, McCall finds himself waging a war against some powerful opponents who have some powerful political connections.

Once again directed by Antoine Fuqua, marking his fourth collaboration with Washington, following "The Magnificent Seven," "The Equalizer," and "Training Day," the film co-stars Pedro Pascal, Bill Pullman, and Moonlight's Ashton Sanders.

"The Equalizer 2" is currently scheduled to open in theaters on July 20th.

Denzel Washington returns to one of his signature roles in the first sequel of his career. Robert McCall serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed -- but how far will he go when that is someone he loves?
