Oscar-winner Christopher Plummer is a geriatric weed-dealer while Bates Motel's Vera Farmiga plays his increasingly embarrassed and frustrated daughter in the trailer for the road-trip film "Boundaries."

Written and directed by Shana Feste (Endless Love, Country Strong), the father-daughter dramedy, which premiered last month at the SXSW Film Festival, features the 88-year-old Hollywood veteran, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for his supporting performance in "All the Money in the World," as a charismatic senior citizen who is kicked out of his nursing home because of his noticeable marijuana habit.

With no other place to go, Plummer's devil-may-care grandpa character is forced to rely on his estranged adult daughters (played by Vera Farmiga and comedian Kristen Schaal) for help, one of whom (Farmiga) has agreed to drive him across the country to his new home in Los Angeles. Although unbeknownst to his daughter and his young teenage grandson (Lewis McDougall, from "A Monster Calls") who's also along for the ride, Plummer has another objective: to drive across country and pay a visit to all of his old pothead friends. And with him being an old-school pot dealer, he intends to sell them 200,000 dollars worth of weed from the trunk of his beat-up car.

Co-starring Bobby Cannavale as Farmiga's deadbeat ex-husband, and Peter Fonda and Christopher Lloyd as Plummer's old pot-smoking buddies, "Boundaries" is scheduled to open in NY and LA on June 22nd, with other cities to follow.

synopsis:
LAURA (Vera Farmiga) is a single mother living in Seattle, who has a constant need to put others and animals before her. When her estranged, criminally-minded father JACK (Christopher Plummer) is kicked out of his retirement home, Laura agrees to drive him down the coast to live with her sister JoJo (Kristen Schaal) in LA. Along for the ride is her bright but troubled son HENRY, and an assortment of animal charity cases. Without telling Laura, Jack convinces Henry to help him sell off his copious supply of marijuana at every stop of their journey, resulting in unexpected reunions with old friends and family.
