A brand-new trailer has been released for "Hereditary," a much-buzzed-about horror movie that made a sensational debut at Sundance this year.

With critics proclaiming it as a "game-changing horror masterpiece," the psychological chiller stars Oscar-nominee Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense) as a dollhouse maker whose life is dramatically upended when her reclusive, dementia-addled mother suddenly passes away, which seemingly brings about all sorts of horrible things to her teenage children (played by Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle's Alex Wolff and Broadway "Matilda" star Milly Shapiro) while also dredging up dark secrets from her family's past.

Co-starring Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects) and Emmy-winner Ann Dowd (The Handmaid's Tale), "Hereditary" marks the promising feature film debut of writer-director Ari Aster, who previously made several short films, including the viral hit The Strange Thing About the Johnsons.

"Hereditary" is due to open in theaters on June 8th.

synopsis:
When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter's family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited.

Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.
