Anything — Trailer

Magic Mike's Matt Bomer plays a transgender woman who embarks on a budding relationship with her next-door neighbor in the trailer for "Anything."

Written and directed by Timothy McNeil, and based on his own 2007 stage play, the indie drama follows a grief-stricken 55-year-old widower (played here by acclaimed character actor John Carroll Lynch; Zodiac, Fargo, American Horror Story) as he moves to Hollywood to be closer to his sister (The Affair's Maura Tierney) and her family, only to find himself striking up an unconventional, yet touching relationship with the trans woman (Bomer) who lives next-door.

Executive produced by actor Mark Ruffalo, the film will be opening theatrically in New York on May 11th and in Los Angeles on May 18th, with other cities to follow.

ANYTHING is an unconventional romance about Earl, a middle-aged widower who moves to Los Angeles to be with family, and who asserts his independence by renting an apartment in a sketchy neighborhood full of "colorful" characters. Most colorful of all is Frida, his transgender next door neighbor who happens to find Earl -- the quintessential Southern Gentleman -- just as exotic as he finds her. Forming a relationship that is at once unexpected and inevitable, this mismatched pair give each other much-needed trust, respect ... and more.
