Check out the new U.S. trailer for the provocative Grindhouse-inspired horror thriller about a woman's fight to turn the tables on her disgusting male attackers.

Marking the feature film debut of French writer-director Coralie Fargeat, putting her own bloody twist on the revenge thriller genre, the film stars 26-year-old Italian model-actress Matilda Lutz (from "Rings" and TV's "Medici: Masters of Florence") as Jen, a young American socialite who, while vacationing with her French millionaire lover, finds herself the recipient of unwanted sexual advances from her boyfriend's sleazy hunting buddies.

But push literally comes to shove when Jen makes an attempt to escape on foot, only to be left for dead in the middle of a sun-baked desert. But much like a blood-soaked phoenix, Jen rises from the ashes and becomes an avenging angel.

A critical hit on the festival circuit, "Revenge" has been praised for its "subversive feminist sensibility," as well as Fargeat's "flashy" visual style.

The film, acquired by indie distributor NEON and AMC's subscription-based horror streaming service Shudder, will be released in theaters and on-demand May 11th. It will also stream exclusively on the Shudder app on that same date.
