Amazon has released the trailer for director Spike Lee's latest joint "Pass Over."

Filmed last September in front of a live audience at Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre, "Pass Over" is the movie version of Antoinette Nwandu's acclaimed stage play of the same name, starring Jon Michael Hill (from TV's Elementary) and Julian Parker (TV's The Chi) as two African-American friends trying to pass the time while hanging out at one of the most dangerous street corners in the city of Chicago.

Described as a provocative, inner-city re-imagining of Samuel Beckett's existential classic "Waiting for Godot," "Pass Over" also features stage actors Ryan Hallahan and Blake DeLong playing the side characters of an unnamed police officer and an old-timey stranger dressed in a bow-tie and seersucker suit.

After premiering to mostly strong reviews at this year's Sundance and SXSW Film Festival, "Pass Over" will be released on Amazon Prime Video next month beginning Friday, April 20th.

synopsis:
In this Amazon Original Movie, Academy Award nominee and Honorary Oscar winning Spike Lee captures the poetry, humor and humanity of this urgent and timely play about two young black men talking shit, passing the time, and dreaming of the promised land. A provocative riff on Waiting for Godot, PASS OVER by newcomer Antoinette Nwandu.
